How well SA has been able to compete in the international market is the subject of a conference organised by the strategic competitiveness unit of the Department of Trade and Industry (DoT&I) on June 7-10 at the Gallagher Estate in Midrand, Gauteng.

“An institutional approach to competitiveness” is being presented by the DoT&I in conjunction with the United Nations industrial development organisation, and will focus on the role of institutions in fostering competitiveness, according to trade and customs consultants, Deloittes.

“The conference will host various international speakers sharing success stories relevant to advancing competitiveness in the SA economy,” FTW was told.

Delegates will include senior government policy analysts and opinion makers from business, the academic community, science council and labour.
